Welding robot with semi PLC control

Good morning

I need to make a simple project for university. It concerns a simple welding robot controlled semi-automatically via PLC. The 3d model together with the simulation is to be made in SOLIDWORKS, while the control program is to be written in TIA Portal for the Simatic Step 7 series controller.
I am able to write the PLC program and drwa the 3d model myself, however I do not know how to combine the two aspects.
Has anyone of you already done something similar? I am looking for some guidance on how a PLC program written in TIA Portal can be run in SOLIDWORKS.
Thanks in advance for any tips that may help me solve this problem.

Solidworks cant do it.
