Welding and Fabrication Design

I would like to see this group established as a forum for sharing and mentoring those who wish to learn about how to design welded and fabricated products, equipment, machinery, etc. Items that could be covered are items like: tube, pipe, and sheet metal bending; metallurgy and heat treatment of weldments, design considerations for welded assemblies with respect towards distortion, changes in material properties due to welding, and assembly fixtures for complex welded assemblies. Also include discussions about welding processes, advantages and disadvantages of welding processes, equipment/process selection, and all tobics relevant to fabricated and welded assemblies.
