I Designed It, I Built It

This is a welding cart I made myself. My work demands often switching from TIG welding to MIG/MAG and sometimes I even need both processes. So the hassle was having them on different carts. This really neglected my workplace and efficiency. So I designed this welding cart for myself. Problems I wanted to eliminate where:

  • I wanted 2 Gas bottles side by side (Argon for TIG and Mixed Gas for MIG/MAG) with easy securing.
  • Before I had to always lift the 50L bottles, now I designed them low enough so I could just "roll" them on without dangering my lower back while lifting.
  • I needed some Table space to keep my drawings and other miscellaneous stuff
  • I needed some containing place for my TIG rods so I added little hooks and front hooks I added a handscrew for securing them in the place and if the welding machine needs some maintenance I just remove the rods and I will have easy access to remove panels of the machine.
  • Some solution to keep my cables organized so I added cable hooks on the right side
  • Containing place for my angle grinder so I built this tool organizer on the left side, which is good for keeping pliers, files, etc. there too.
  • The PVC hose for air pressure was always taking up space so I needed some way to keep it out of sight. I installed hose clamps in the bottom of the lower table and installed the spiral hose in the front to keep it out of the way if I don't need it.

I added some reinforcement plate for back wheel to minimize chance of flexing and welded short spacer over a weld so the wheel wouldn't wobble while moving
