Hi Friends,
Can any one explain briefly basic factors to be considered in sheet metal design.
Thanks in Advance.
1 : k faktor 0.5 (for me in durma bending machine use 0.61 k faktor)
2 bend radius !!! first asked the producers what have in manufacturing bending tool+die.
3: in programs all its possible cutting, bending (in design stepps) but not all its posible. Only see the flattpart results.
For best quality need to have info to production machine (punch, laser, bending rolling....machine)
to avoid small cracks on the inside of the bend there's a good rule of thumb: Inner Bend-Radius = Thickness of you metal-sheet.
Yes, you are right they are very expensive.
We always used only about 3 different thicknesses.
For the more exotic thicknesses we would just assume this radius during the design, so that we wouldn't be surprised afterwards because the bend was to big. ;D
Hi, sheet size, consider large items may be larger than a standard sheet eg 8ft x 4 ft or 3mtr x 1.5mtr, design accordingly, also research air bending and coining, old school terms yet there is still tooling out there which uses these.
Forming SS material with high tensile strength is more typical. If sheet thickness is 0.50 mm for SS sheet and tensile strength is 700 MPa than Is it possible to achieve the radius of 4.00 mm at one stroke?
hey sir can I have your email/facebook/instagram we have a durma bending machine and I have a problem with getting the same results as my cad designs if you can help
