Hi all South Africa Gradcab members. I was hoping to see more people here.
Yeah me 2 that's why i created this group but looks like the people in my country don't use grab cad as much as i hoped.
Good Day
i am also from south Africa and work in the cycling industry
Hi guys,
Good to join you. Im also from SA, from the steel manufacturing sector.
Excellent design!!!!....But can't figure out the product.
Hi Guys
Good to know that there is some people in my country in the same boat as I am. But what is the difference between Grabcab and Fusion 360?
Simon
Hi Sechaba. What do you mean?
Grabcad is this site where creators share their cad models.
Fusion 360 is a CAD product created by Autodesk, which you use to create 3d objects.
Good Morning ... Great to see some Souf Efricans here .. are there any Rhino Users and/or jewellery designers on this group?
Regards
Barry
Far flung South African here. I've been with GrabCAD from the early days and have always found it a great place to pick up a challenge.
I am surprised there aren't more Saffa's around. I've found the challenges to be quite lucrative in pulling down some good ol' USD.
Cheers!
Are you having a go at the space ship then?
I've started one, but struggling to find the time to finish.
Unfortunately I'm on leave with family and will be avoiding the skeef looks from my wife at all costs 😜.
Not this time mate.
I do wish there were more challenges like the used to be.
Hi Christo,
Im a Mechanical Engineer current in a aluminium/fabrication industry, overseeing the designs & manufacturing of marquees.....
I have been involved in a new design for a double decker marquee, currently the designs for the marquee have been signed off by structural engineers. however the steel structure staircase for the double decker is abit of stumble block for me.
i was wondering of there are any guidelines or mandatory specifications for these types of steel structures. ie, total deflection for the supporting members, height to width ratio.
I have consulted with the go to material, SANS & SABS are very thin with this regards.
I will post the image of the modular design as reference,
Kind regards.
Hi KeLeVra
Yes there are. When ever I design steel staircases I refer to the South African Steel Construction Handbook A.K.A. The Red Book.
Section 12 will provide you with all the guidelines and design criterion for this.
I hope this is helpful.
Kind regards.
Good Day Christo,
i hope and trust this message finds you in good spirit.
I managed to get hold of the "Red Book", had all of the information i was looking for. thanks a million.
Have a lekker further.
Regards.
Hi KeLevra
Shot man, glad I could be of any help.
Good luck with your projects and have lekker day also.
Best regards.
Hi All Saffers
I've been away from Grabcad for a few years, but I'm back, semi retired and keen to get more involved again. Will keep an eye on this group to see what's cooking....
Hi from Elgin Valley.
My name's Paul.
I'm not a trained draughtsman/engineer/or anything, but I am an engineering graphic artist for the fire protection industry.
Nice to meet you all.
Hi Theunis,
Groete
