This thread is about a Firewood processing line, build from mostly scrap parts and things from stockpiles. this first post will mostly be introduction.
I would love to make a processor 'together' with the Grabcad community and share the processor here so everybody can use it as base for their own build.

This is just a hobby project so we are on a budget but i have acces to a lasercutter and a workshop. I hoped not to spend more then €1000,00 to parts and steel other then what i allready have.
I found a very good processor here on GrabCad but the owner (Tomahawk) does not respond while i ask him if its okay to use his base. Maybe he responds during the build of this thread.
And as you probably guessed while reading, English is not my first language so my apologies in advance if this is hard to read.
So here we go.... let me explain the plan.
I have little knowledge about these machines but i build a logsplitter myself and learned a good deal about it.
I made a firewood splitter before from scrapmetals, adjusted some things while working with it but the main problem is its not very powerfull en lifting the logs all the time is not very fun.
Here the logsplitter is attached to a 80HP small tractor, the crossknifes can be adjusted in height to switch between a single knife or a cross knife. Hydraulic cilinder is a 80mm piston. This machine is kinda okay but with bigger or dried logs it doesnt split the log.

I have a double axle trailer wich had an accident, the frame and steelbase are good but the upper half and wood parts are wrecked. (It still has license so i can drive it on public road LoL). i like to use this trailer for base of the new processor so family or friends can use it as well and take it home.
I have recently scrapped a 5,5KW hydraulic unit from a wastecontainer, the container was broken and went for scrapmetals. The hydrounit appears to have a 60L oiltank and 14,3CC pump on a 5,5KW motor. It still worked before taking it out, electronics are old but working but switches on the front are in bad condition though.
Need some cleanup but the condition is pretty good. In second and last picture you can see it has an adjustable pressure valve, (the red colored valce right next to the oiltank) those are not cheap and this may be interesting when using for the log splitter to add an extra high pressure pump. we'll see about that.
I have a variety of pumps on shelf from 6cc to 30CC if we want to add a pump to this one. Not sure it these fit right away on this pump.
I have some hydraulic cilinders with 40mm to 70mm pistons mostly about 200-500mm long.
The design:
I was looking for ways to makes this kind of low pricing but high reliability, wich means we have to make things super durable, easy to build and easy to maintain.
Second i like a machine wich can be kind of modular, so we first build the new logsplitter but with preparations for the chainsaw and maybe a hoist?
I found this processor here on GrabCad by Tomahawk wich is very good:
although his pictures seem to be very detailed the model is not. I tried contacting him for some more details but i think he started a business with this machines. Not intrested to share his ideas then i think.
so far so good, this is the plan. i saw some good processors on youtube for ideas.
I try keep this thread updated with models and the build.
